What is Pain Management?

Pain management is a medical specialty devoted to treating acute, sub-acute, and chronic pain. The objective of pain medicine is to improve the patient’s quality of life.

Centurion Pain Management treats a variety of pain stemming from various causes. No pain symptom is overlooked. Our goal is to unearth the causes of the symptoms to treat the root of the problem. Our medical providers work with your primary care provider and other medical specialists such as physical and occupational therapists, oncologist, chiropractors and psychiatrist or psychologist, to provide effective pain management. We engage with you and your other medical providers in an attempt to create a multipronged approach at helping you achieve maximum function with the least amount of pain possible.

Patient Pain Evaluation

Your care begins by studying your medical history and assessing your physical and neurological status in order to identify the source of your pain.

A discussion of your pain includes its location(s), duration, and intensity. You may be asked to draw on a picture of the body where you feel pain and asked to describe it.

Further evaluation may require a CAT scan, MRI, or other study to further evaluate your pain and diagnose its cause.

Treatment Choices

Contingent on many aspects, such as the type of pain and your general health, there are numerous choices for treating your pain. Patients are surprised to learn that a treatment that previously failed to provide relief may be effective when combined with a holistic approach.
